Unfortunately, I have to give a negative review. After 2 months of Richard supplying and fitting reclaimed railway sleepers in my garden they are oozing black tar not suitable for gardens where children are playing. Whilst it is true that Richard did show me the sleepers at no time did he tell me they would leak tar and there was no evidence in the ones I saw prior to fitting to suggest that. I find it totally negligent that at no time in all our conversations about which materials to use that he failed to inform me prior to fitting the sleepers that they would be prone to oozing tar in hot weather. I am now left with having to redo the garden or pay to have the sleepers clad. My only other recourse is to file a claim in small claims court in a effort to recover some of my out of pocket costs. BEWARE - I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RECLAIMED RAILWAY SLEEPERS FOR USE IN HIGH CONTACT AREAS AND DOMESTIC GARDENS.

They cut my 7 foot hedges down to 2 foot and removed all the rubbish in no time! Did a great job and left the place tidy. Never seen a small team work as quickly! They arrived on time, did what they had promised and even returned later to do an extra job of totally clearing a very overgrown area full of brambles and making it look great! They kept all of their promises and were professional and friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend them and will definitely be using them again! Thank you R Smith Garden Services.

Richard and his colleague undertook decking works to our rear garden, removing existing lawn and replacing with decking and stones to the borders. We were kept updated on timescales throughout and they were polite and professional throughout being courteous to our neighbours. Great value for money and really pleased with the end result. Richard is a rare find. He turned up when he said he would, provided a reasonable quote, kept me informed about when the job could be done and even came back to fix a small issue for me. He has done a great job replacing fence panels and sorting out some loose paving slabs. He was especially understanding when I was delayed in paying him due to a family bereavement. All round nice guy!
